We all enjoy hearing good news. Jesus is the Good News, after all! You might be wondering who God is and whether or not he exists at all. What does it mean to me even if he is real?
The answer to who Jesus is, is found in the Bible. Jesus' identity will be attested to by the millions of followers he has gained since his human birth in the first century AD.
He is, in fact, God, and He descended to earth to suffer and die for our sins. Without blood being shed, sins cannot be forgiven, therefore Jesus gave his life to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus is special because of this. He is the God who entered the world as a person. His name has numerous connotations. He is the Saviour, Counselor, Deliverer, Worker of Miracles, the Mighty God, and Full of Compassion for His Children. However, all you have to do to approach Him is invoke his name. He is concerned for us and is aware of what we are going through. He is correctly referred to in the Bible as "Immanuel," God is with us.
We frequently rule ourselves out of God's love due to our past, mistakes, and shortfalls. We cannot make up for our sin with self-improvement or good deeds because sin has separated us from God. How then can we consent to that which we have not earned?
Nothing in all of creation, according to the Bible, can keep us from experiencing the love of God, who is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. And to trust God's patient, forgiving, and compassionate treatment of us is to accept His love. Only He has the ability to give us a life of wholeness by releasing us from our feelings of guilt, humiliation, and condemnation.
The Bible says in Ephesians 1:3-6 Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son
What is the requirement to be adopted by God?
Romans 10:9 says that “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become His children. It is an irrevocable acceptance into the family of God and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation. If you are not sure whether you are right with God or you know in fact that you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now by praying a prayer of surrender to Jesus.
